Try these worksheets to assist you with each component of your research assignment:

Thesis Builder

Thesis Builder is an online tool to help you create a concise, one-sentence thesis statement. You will need:

  • Your topic
  • Your opinion or position in a BRIEF phrase
  • Reasons for your opinion and a main reason others might disagree, all in BRIEF phrases.

After you create your best thesis statement, use the build an outline link to get a blueprint for exactly how to write your research paper.

Occupational Outlook Handbook

Some sections of ENG 101 require students to use the Occupational Outlook Handbook as part of their Career Exploration Assignment. This is a free to use website hosted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Personalized Ebsco Folders

You may be asked to keep track of your research by using the personalized folder feature in the Ebsco databases, including Academic Search Complete. 

Watch the video below for instructions on how to do this. Remember: you can use any email and password of your choosing to create a new Ebsco account.
