Library Policies: Study Rooms

How to Reserve Rooms

  • Call us at 978-630-9125 or speak to a Library staff member to reserve a room.
  • Students may reserve a study room for up to 2 hours per reservation. At the end of a reserved period, if the room is available, an additional 2 hour reservation may be made by speaking to a Library & Academic Support Center staff member.
  • Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and may be reserved up to one week in advance.
  • Reserved rooms not occupied within the first 15 minutes will be considered available for use by other students.
  • Please cancel your reservation if the room is no longer required.
  • In order to promote equitable access, the Library & Academic Support Center reserves the right to prevent groups from monopolizing study rooms and the Collaborative Classroom.

Using These Rooms

  • Students must keep the room in good condition.
  • Turn off all equipment and lights and dispose of all trash before exiting.
  • Students are liable for any damages or inappropriate use of the room.
  • Students are expected to comply with library and college policies.
  • Noise levels from conversations and/or equipment must not disturb others.
  • Students are responsible for personal belongings left unattended in study rooms.
  • Rooms must be vacated 10 minutes prior to Library & Academic Support Center closing time.
  • Please close the door when leaving the room.
  • For technical assistance or to report any problems, contact a library staff member.

Student Study Rooms (073, 074, 077)

  • These rooms have a desk, computer, and two chairs.
  • Snacks and covered drinks only.
  • This room has a conference table and eight chairs.
  • Snacks and covered drinks only.

Collaborative Classroom (075)

This room is designed for active, collaborative learning for groups of 3-12 people. The room has a media-scape for sharing documents via laptop plug-ins. The room also has two whiteboards. There is no audiovisual projection equipment in the room. 

  • Students can use this room for collaborative group work and study. 
  • Faculty and staff can use this room for group trainings and professional development.
  • Priority will be given to groups requiring use of the room’s technology.
  • No food or drink is allowed this room.
