Avoid small font when possible (anything under size 14).
Use nested headings in boxes, starting with H3. LibGuides automatically gives box titles an H2 heading.
Use a Friendly URL for the LibGuide and Page URL.
Evaluate the accessibility of your LibGuide using ANDI, WAVE, and/or AInspector.
Make sure word documents or .pdfs are accessible and can be read by a screen reader.
Create bulleted or numbers lists to break up content.
Avoid using fixed width tables.
Check to see how the webpage looks on a mobile device.
When possible, avoid all capital letters, excessive italics or underlines.
Avoid color-coding as the only way to differentiate information and use accessible font colors.

Limit use of photos on LibGuides and include only if necessary.
If an image conveys text, use text instead of the image.
All photos must have Alternative Text (Alt Text) descriptions or captions.
When possible, change the size of photos using the percentage % not the pixel width.
Multiple images on a page should be displayed in Gallery Boxes. Never use tables.
Use descriptive link text, avoid phrases like "click here" for linked text.
Provide closed captioning/transcripts for audio and video.
Adhere to the accessibility guidelines outlined in WCAG 2.2.
